In this sixth talk of the "Fashioning Theory" Research Seminar held at The New School Parsons Paris, Associate Professor Simona Segre Reinach and Dr Wessie Ling will explore the different methodological and theoretical frameworks that have characterized the study of global fashion and focus on the case of what they defined as "Multiple Chinas". This talk will be also the occasion to present their latest book, entitled "Fashion in Multiple Chinas. Chinese Styles in the Transglobal Landscape", IB Tauris (2018).

Simona Segre Reinach is Associate Professor at Bologna University. She has written extensively on fashion from a global perspective and is also involved in fashion curation studies. Recent books include "Exhibit! (Fashion on show)" with Luca Marchetti 2017 and "Fashion in Multiple Chinas. Chinese Styles in the Transglobal Landscape" with Wessie Ling 2018.

Dr Wessie Ling is Reader in Fashion Studies at Northumbria University (UK) and a visual artist. She is the author of Fusionable Cheongsam and co-editor of Fashion in Multiple Chinas. In 2018, she is ASEAN Research Fellow at Mahidol University and Rita Bolland Fellow for the Study of Textile and Fashion at National Museum of World Culture (The Netherlands). Her artworks have been exhibited at OVADA (Oxford), Brunei Gallery (SOAS) and the Victoria & Albert Museum among others.
